8.8 Ford rear axle questions

I have an 85 GSL-SE and I'm going to upgrade the rear end with a 8.8 Ford unit. Has anyone installed one of these without narrowing it? Is there a particular one that will fit width wise. I'm just looking for some advise from anyone with experience in this modification.

theres a company called granny motorsports or something. I dont know the url

they do v8 swaps, but they also have rear end conversions I beleive.

Im interested in the 8.8 rear end swap as well, because the rear end is the only thing Im really worried about breaking with my new turbo engine.

anybody know how much they weight vs. a gsl rear??
