Hey all-
I've posted a couple of times in this section, normally i'm hangin around in the 3rd gen section learning about the FD. Anywho, i saw a '83 for sale the other day, and finally went to look at it. The for sale tag says "Tampa Car, Best Offer". I talked to the guy, and he said that it has about 3500 miles on a bridge ported 12a from (he thinks, guy he bought it from put it in) MazdaTrix, with a pretty big Holly carb, OMP is not hooked up. Chassis has 170k on it, and the paint is **** (maaco job from Tampa). has a header (pretty sure that it was RB because he said that he orders from them about once a month). It also has RB Duals, MSD coils, dual oil coolers (custom job, two stockers), reloacted oil filter, front RB strut tower brace, fresh suspension in the front from RB and all the new parts from RB for the rear waiting to be installed, 3 fresh Bridgestone Potenza's, never been mounted, black rims with chrome lip (some curb rash), and a loose aftermarket spoiler, a spare tranny with 75k on it. I'll try and make it there to take pics.

here is the bad stuff: needs new drivers front quarter and the sheetmetal that spans in front of the hood, he said that a lady that lives next to him backed into him, and he showed me the bumper and fender on her car, and his story checks out. the front bumper is shifted, but he said that it's held in place with two pistons, and that one blew when she hit it. needs a drivers front corner marker. brights aren't hooked up. aftermarket seats are mounted pretty damn shoddy, he just drove lag bolts through the body. only rust is under the drivers seat, the guy said that there is a stock plug there and it had rusted around it, so they just removed the plug. It'll have to be wire wheeled and welded shut. it needs all new seals on the doors and hatch. I'm thinking about offering him 1k for it, because of the body damage, how shoddy the seats are mounted, how the spoiler is mounted (it just has some screws loosley put through the body). Do you guys think that that's a lowball offer (the guy was like: i have no clue how much this is worth, but i'm glad that someone stopped by and knew what they were talking about).

If i remember to take my digital camera tomorrow i'll swing by and snap some pictures and post them tomorrow night.

EDIT: forgot to add in that it has a new radiator and fresh clutch, new plugs, 8.5mm wires, and has to be premixed

oh, and no sunroof, with side tinting but no rear tinting (fucked up, eh?)

i checked out the blue book, but kbb.com only goes back to '85, and it said $520, so i'm thinkin about starting out at $600. the guy bought it because his daughter's boyfriend at the time had one, and then they broke up, so now he doesn't want it. I'll go up to about 800 before walking away, because it's such a hack job. forgot to add that the wiring for the back half of the car runs inside the car along side the drivers seat

personally, id pay 750 for that, then spend some money on getting a good body seperate, can get a non-running (cheap) and swap over the performance pieces and engine

the guy said that it was backed into while parked, and the dent in the lady's bumper that hit him matches the damage, so there isn't any structural damage. I'm a fan of this one because this is the first FB that i've seen w/o a sunroof of some sort
