I'll have to say after driving and riding in my friend's CelicaSupra, they are a very nice ride. His 82 CelicaSupra is a much more refined vehicle than my 82 GSL, but still I do love my FB over his car.

I tend to forget about FC's. FBs dominated more than half the 80's decade; that should be enough. In fact it should be #1.

Yes, 82 Celica. Supra was a package you bought for the Celica....kinda like an option.

Then they just split off into their own lines i belive when the Mark IIIs came out. Which was in 86 I think.

the muria got in for 2 decades, the regular muria for the 60s and the SV for the 70s, there is no reason why the far superior FB GSL or GSL SE wont make it on to the 80s...it was the most popular sportscar of all time...and what elts is gonna be on there??? i mean the brits have crap, the supra was ok but not world class, datsun released the 260 and the 280, both of which were heavy flops, and these guys dont seem to think much of porsche (the bastards) so i think we are a shoe in for the 80s, and hell, even if its in FC form, the soul is in the engine right????

The 80s were great for sports cars:

959
F40
MR2
Coutach
Testarossa
Rx-7
Miata
300ZX
BMW Z1
Corvette started to get less crappy
911s were great
The Esprit became less of a kit car
