48ida question

Bought a used freshly rebuilt 48ida that I want to put on my 12a. I've been researching and reading tons of posts and getting info from different websites. I've pulled it all apart to see what's been done to it. I've been able to answer all my questions on the mods done to it from reading up on it, except for one. It has an extra hole drilled on the top cover and I have no idea why? It's right next to where it says weber on the top cover. Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks,
Sa7

So if I'm not going to use the omp, I should plug this hole?
