45 oer from ***

So I am looking for an aftermarket carb to get my rx7 off the ground again. Can anyone with the *** 45oer share their experience? I am just looking for a solid power band, streetable and responsive. Currently have a aftermarket header to a ypipe, otherwise the engine is stock.

Specific questions:
1. Do you feel it lakcs anywhere in the powerband(I want to have best possible throttle repsonse)?
2. Can you mantain the omp?
3. How was gas mileage(When taking it easy and when you really got on it)?

Thanks...

I have a 45 oer from *** its a good carb for W.O.T. track/drag people but street driving is well not easy. Personally I think its a pos but that's my opinion. often it felt like on the low end of the power band there was nothing lots of lag till about 2k then fine higher. I swapped it for a sterling and I am not looking back. The only down side to the rotary shack set up is no opm rod input but fittings for lines to do nothing and no air filter assembly or throttle cable bracket or good way to connect throttle cable to carb and its a bit pricey compared to similar set ups. here's a pic, what you see is what you get. carb, intake, gakits, and a long piece of silicone hose and I think that's it.

oh and gas mileage was lower compared to the sterling,
13-15mpg 45oer and 20-25mpg sterling (rich setting need more tuning)

set up
(45oer *** old set up)
sterling carb
RB full street port exhaust
carter fuel pump
holly fuel regulator
stock ignition
NGK BR8EQ-14 plugs
NGK wires and cap

Yeah I have heard awesome things about Sterlings but it seems like I missed the boat to get one long ago. I thought about sending my niki off for rebuild/mod but it seems like those choices are off the table... I am really just looking for a solid streetable/ fun drive intake setup.

i have the OER 47 and its fine for street driving. a few things.

your car will smoke and you will burn more oil because you have to wire the OMP wide open. i dont mind this.

air filter kits are not hard to come by. anything made for a two barrel weber will work.

yes. the throttle cable bracket could be better. i plan on making my own eventually

i have had no issues at all with power delivery. you cant drive it like a four barrel carb. if you just mash the gas it will sputter and die. you have to lead into it.

external accel pump and floats are great for track guys.

and yeah, mileage sucks, around 13-15 as stated.
