4 Port GSL-SE
I have a friend thats has a 1977 Cosmo 4port.The motor has bridge ported intake and street ported exhaust. He bought the templates from racing beat back in the day.He is using a racing beat header that goes into a V-8 style cat then out to the sock exhaust tip.The carb set up is still stock with the right kind of jetting. The car doesn't seem to have that much power. The engine has about 20,000 miles on it.This thing sounds incredible!Sounds soooo smooth on idle with smooth acceleration all the way to about 8,000 rpms.Like I said though, not a lot of power though?I was looking at swapping this engine into my GSL-SE.I am going to switch to a better carb set up however not sure which one. How much power should a set up like this make?I almost believe that my GSL-SE is faster than this ported engine. It is that close. In question.....Anybody

If it has a smooth idle it's not a bridgeport. Regardless of the porting, the stock Hitachi carb is probably choking it down. What is a V8-style cat? Is he using the stock Cosmo muffler? Keep in mind that CD Cosmos are 300+ lbs. heavier than GSL-SEs.

Yea yea.Stock muffler. The car has that brap sound like a ported engine.Smooth acceleration is what I meant. It has a V-8 muffler out of some for.The racing beat header has two pipes out of the housing then the pipes are welded into the cat which has two inlets then one outlet to the muffler.Stock carb.Sure is like a carter style carb. Two float bowls with accelerator pump.He set up the secondaries to be mechanical instead of vacuum also.
