try going to a junk yard and finding a car with the 3rd break light mounted at the top of the rear window. take that.
splice the wires in to one side of the rear tail lights and that should do it.
as for mounting some super thing super tacky duble sided tape will do the trick.

Use the 3M double-sided tape that body shops use to hold plastic trim on with. Just becarful where you put it.... that stuff sticks!! Don't skimp with the cheaper stuff, like Manntis said, it'll just melt and the light will fall.

but i can see what your getting at if its in side the car sitting in the heat. that might melt it.
I wonder if there's an inexpensive alternative source of a low, wide bank of LEDs similar to the Cadillac or NSX CMS. Say, one you could mount in the thick metal of theback of the roof (above the hatch, but keeing it flush with the body lines)
85gs has one in his 85 gslse. its mounted on the inside of the car, you can barely see it, actually, i didnt notice it until he pointed it out, but when he hits the brake, its like a normal light. its pretty cool.

88-89 Nissan 300ZX LED brake light. Looked awesome.
For this car, I am considering the one from the Oldmobile Alero. It has about the same rake and angle as the FB, and is super bright.
I just got a cheapo red neon license plate frame off ebay for like $15 and stuck it on and wired it to my brake lights. Granted its lower to the ground, but it still attracts attention.
