I agree.

 

Speaking of signal to noise ratios and useless threads, it would be great if all the 'noise' posts could be deleted from this forum and peoples' post counts reflected it.

 

Nice idea, but one person's "noise" is another's "signal". Who would be assigning the "useless" and "noise" rankings? There are other, user-moderated forums out there. On them, you can filter your forum views by post rankings. Doesn't moderate the useless threads, but it does allow you to only see the postings others have rated as worthy. But then you get into the problem of how postings are rated. It generates no end of complaints. There can be more posts that are comments on the ranking of posts within the thread than "real" posts. For reference, check out www.slashdot.org. And be thankful we have as little noise as we do.

Ive been here for ages, but no one knows me :p. I post a couple of times a week but thats all. I still concider myself a noob really, even though i know a bit. Im definatly no rotary guru, i guess you gotta know alot before you can graduate from noob school.:p

 

Nahhh. My ex-wife is the only person I call "useless" and "noisy". I called her a "****" one time. I won't try that again, at least if I'm within arms reach.

Just remember, the most common combo a woman will use is slap to the face / kick to the shin. Don't ask me how I know . So be ready to block the kick too.
