3 point tow bar . looking for install/towing info help

hello.
Q#1 Can 3 point tow bar be installed directly to shock (I have seen it but don't trust it). If not where do i attach the brackets to clear with bumper upon hitting a hill? (bolt sizes or weld on brackets?) Does any of the members have a pic's of tow triangle bracketing attached

Q#2 While towing the car, should i keed towed rx7 ignition key/steering wheel locked or turned on. I have experienced car "waving" to the sides, but it comes back to Q#1- maybe my tow bar was not attached correctly.

Disconnect the battery, turn key to the On position to unlock steering.

Hi Drifted:
I have used a "tow dolly" several years to take my 1st generation to SCCA meets. I actually towed it backwards, due to one should unhook the drive shaft if the rear wheels were towing. This may really not be needed, due to a manual transmission, (should visit with a reliable mechanic) but I didn't want unnecessary "mileage" on the bearings. Due to the weight being distributed "backwards", more weight to the rear, it had the tendency to weave , and sometimes bad . Pull it facing forward if possible.

If you use a tow bar, which I wouldn't do, unless I had to, the front tires of the vehicle, whatever it is, needs to be able to turn during corners. If you don't, it will try and drive straight while the towing vehicle trys to make the corner.

Tow dollys aren't that expensive, and you won't have that much more into it that trying to rig up a "tow bar". Look for a used one.

Hope that helps.
