You should use a 2nd gen trailing coil too. It is nice to mount a 2nd gen leading coil and a 2nd gen trailing coil to the stock 2nd gen trailing coil bracket. It makes a clean setup. The coils have the same mounting pattern so its an easy swap.

MSD was the solution to my morning plug fouling issues on my 13B bridgeport. Also gave me a lot of top end. I was still able to get up to 20MPG too. I think an MSD on the leading is a good choice. On the trailing?... not so much.

You cannot use the 2nd gen trailing coil pack. To do so you would require the CAS setup and a computer to run it. Just not worth it for trailing ignition.

Who said you cant. Several old school cars from Socal are equipped with trailing coil pack. Just dont ask me how they run. Here's a pix.

My friend has this setup. I thought he just wired it up like a regular coil. If not, it probably could be done with that transistor trick on 2nd gen leading ignitor to fire the trailing coil into the distributor cap.

On the pic wacky posted, you can see that they used the 2nd gen leading for trailing (through the dizzy) and 1 trailing coil for each leading plug. They are using just the 2nd gen coils and not the 2nd gen ignitors. This setup is just like the regular DLIDFIS.
