2 questions.

1.How should a 84 gsl idle? Mine idles (when it ran) at 1000-1300 fluctuating up and down. It had 110 on both rotors on all faces. Dont ask how its not running anymore .

2. Are the choke cables the same on 79-85 rx7's?

Thanks for your help.

Idle should be steady, around 750 rpm. Not sure on the cables.

You might be able to just adjust the idle on the carb and then mess with the mixture, two different screws on the stock carb

thanks for the replys. The reason I blew the origional motor with only 20k rebuild on it is because i was messing with the screws on the carb to try and adjust my idle . Not doing that again lol. Car will be up for sale once I get it running right and replace some parts. Let me know if anyone needs a first gen in the midwest area I am in Illinois near chicago.
