1st gens in/around W-S, NC?

Just curious, but I was wondering if anyone here lives in/around Winston-Salem that owns a 1st gen. I saw one on Silas Creek Pkwy. near Hanes Mall a couple mornings ago ~7:40-45. I think it was silver, maybe light blue (not sure since the sun was shining RIGHT in my face, just above the light >.<).

I also saw another 1st gen at Forsyth Tech a couple weeks back. I can't remember the color of it, but I remember getting real excited, then disappointed that my 7 wasn't running.

I live in Greensboro, NC and there's this place called Sneed Speed Shop in Winston-Salem that is all about some RX-7s. Maybe there in the phone book, they can fix your car no problem and there all cool guys too. Why isn't your car working anyways? I'd like some RX-7 enthusiasts to chill with. Mine is silver but I don't drive much anymore since I got my Reckless Driving Ticket. I love working on these cars, i'd like to help you with yours.

Well, I bought it for $500 from some guy in Albemarle with the engine already dead, figured it would be a good learning experience and a good deal. Read up on the engine some and what might be wrong with it, and I'm fairly sure it's a blown apex and a blown side seal. (Didn't check compression, actually, but I took the spark plugs out and spun it over. Got the 1 strong, 2 weak on one rotor, 2 strong, 1 weak on the other [I think that's how it goes]).

I would have had it done, but I borrowed $400 from my parents to get the car since I had just recently gotten a job, so money was the main problem. Now it's just time that's the problem. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the engine out over the Christmas break, rebuild it, put it back in, and maybe get her runnin'.

Of course, I've also been looking to maybe just buy another RX-7 with a running engine for cheap and just use the 7 I have now as a parts car. (A bunch of cosmetic stuff is needed to make it look decent.) However, if I do end up rebuilding my engine, it will DEFINITELY be getting a street port. If I get another 7 with a running engine, I'll drive it and have fun with it until the engine goes, then I'll rebuilt/streetport that engine.

Pretty much all the work that gets done on my family's cars are done by us [except for our Passat, since it's under warranty]. That way we save alot of money.

Maybe if I ever get a running 7 or get my 7 running, we can meet somewhere.

RedBlast is out your way and has two cars. I just picked up TJ's car from out there last week.

There are a couple of guys in High Point also.

I have a great engine if you wanted to buy one ready to go in.

Asking $600 and you can hear it run and drive it a little before we pull it.

Oh yea, This is from the same car your doors came off of.

I'm over here in Burlington with a white 84 GSL-SE. If the good transmission were in it you might actually see it on the road sometime.

I live in Virginia and have an 83 GSL for sale. It has both VA inspection and emissions. I'm asking around $900 obo for it.
