1st Gen "Ranchero/Subaru Brat" style conversion???

Has anyone here seen a 1st gen converted to a Ranchero or Brat style, with a small box built into the rear? I know it has been done with the 2nd gen, but I have not seen a 1st gen. Any photos of something like this???

I have seen a first gen with the rear hatch and triangles removed, making sort of a brat-esque truck bed, but without a wall b/t the cab and cargo area. He also had a curved sheet of glass made so that he could still have a hatchback to bolt on when it rained. Looked pretty cool.

I've seen the thread on the 2nd gen one, never have seen it performed on a 1st gen. I suppose making it 'Bratesque' is one way to have 4 useable seats, lol.

I've seen a Del Sol done liek that - just about big enough of a box to put A sack of groceries in...people like to mod their vehicles and people like truck beds...they have done it to cadialllacs and even corvettes! *can't find the pic right now

isaac

let me know if you decide to try it, i would definitely drive over to help/see it

Yeah, then you could stick your front and rear seats back to back like the old Brat, lol!
Q: What's the best way to make Granda go into cardiac arrest on a quick jaunt to the bingo parlor?

A: Stick her in the back seat of small but rather fast and sporty car, facing the wrong way, with her head sticking up about a foot above the roofline!

I do miss the old school Subarus.

I have seen a japanese skyline R32 turned into a El Camino style car. Can't say it was very attractive.

As for the Subaru Brat, can't say I've ever heard of one untill this thread. Not a bad looking "car" actually.

I would just let the girls sit in each others lap, before I hacked up a SPORTS car and turned it into a "hellcamino". Actually I would leve the short one one there and take the tall one home!

One of the oddest conversions I've ever seen was what should have been a 65 Barracuda/Valiant that was converted to look like the later Dodge Ram 50. You have to be old to properly picture that one in your head, lol.
