I've been brain storming quite a bit the past few days and I've been trying to come up with an alternative rack and pinion conversion compared to the fc subframe swap (I like being able to use my 12a front cover, makes engine swapping a breeze and gives me a lot of variety to chose an engine with little to no fab work)

I've figured out that the stock tie rod ends are M14 1.5 thread pitch, and I'm not against retreading them for a rack and pinion install.

The main hurdle on my brainstorming is souring a rear steer rack (would be very simple to make a bracket off the back of the 12a crossmember for a rack and pinion). I can figure out all the misc. bits and pieces, steering shaft shouldn't be too difficult to adapt. I keep hearing about the dodge Omni rack and pinion, but no parts stores have it in stock and can't get ahold of it, I can order it online but I'd rather examine the product in person so I can determine if it will work for my application.

Anyone know any cars that use a rear steer rack and pinion besides honda?
