The other alternative is the subframe from an FC if you don't want to fork out the $800 for the ReSpeed kit and don't mind doing some fab work. If you're looking for bolt in, ReSpeed is definitely the way to go.

That kind of work is certainly beyond me, and my hat is off to those who have done it and made it work. I don't have the knowledge, the time, or the patience for that kind of a job. In fact, I actually HATE working on cars. lol. If I didn't have to work on it, so that I could enjoy driving it, then I probably wouldn't even own a single wrench...
If it wasn't for the class restrictions (steering conversion not allowed in CSP), then I would be sporting the Respeed rack for sure. It was designed specifically for our cars, and has a lot of benefits built into it. And for the amount of trouble buying a prebuilt kit can save, I would gladly pay the extra money. Most home built jobs tend to run way over budget anyway, as you find out along the way what you need, and it slowly adds up.
I've seen some of bshusted's work. A very very impressive amount of work went into that. I know that I do not have the skills to take on a project like that. But anyone out there saying "just throw a fc subframe in there", but hasn't actually done it themselves, should take a peek at his thread.
Just get teh Respeed rack. The 1100 bucks you'll spend on the rack will be piece of mind that it works properly with no glitches and wont sacrifice your safety
Do it right the first time. Sometimes tried and true is that way for a reason.

Yep, then all you have to do is find a FC subframe. Then get all the tools together for all the fab work. Then chop everything up, and reassemble it in just the correct manner. And if you do it all correctly, and don't make any mistakes, then you'll have a R&P in your car that was designed for something else.
Seriously! Drill four holes. couple pieces of pipe for the bolts, a bit of welding and voila. The first time i did mine, took literally 1.5hrs of fabwork from start to finish! I was lucky in getting the FB's bolts off and already had an FC subframe sitting there.
It is definately not for the beginner or as you stated, people who don't want to do their own work. But it isn't that hard!
Either way you choose, good luck and I hope it turns out the way you want!
