I just purchased an 81 - 1st Gen that appears to have 24,000 actual miles on it. The car has been stored since 1990, but appears it must have been started regularly. The radio controls, heater controls, even the shifter are still stiff when moved, just like new. I replace the fuel system from the tank to the carb, and it starts and runs like brand new. When state inspection was done, it tested 1/10 of minimums emissions. My problem is that since I purchased it from a charity auction, I have no information on the previous owner, so I can contact him to verify the milage. A search through the state also only gets me the auction company as the previous owner, no farther back. Does anyone know of any national RX7 clubs that might have any records of original owners. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
