1st Gen newbie, 2nd gen 13b on 1st gen?
Ok I probably confused some of you with my title. Sorry about that. I have a 88 convertible that I love and I just bought me a 85 with 12a motor. I want to make my vert a turbo so I bought a 87 tubro. Now that leaves me with my 13b engine. Can I put this into my 1st gen? I know some of them came with 13b engines. Thanks

Dynevahn, the topic has been discussed many times. LOTS of people come asking the same question. Its all cool though You can also do your own search to try to find stuff.
Ill try to find some old threads on it later.
Anyone else got any threads that would be good for him?

Well I don't know any threads but I am doing this swap right now. If you need any help give me a PM i can help. If i can offer any sudjestions my #1 would be throw away the fuel injection crap and go carb. Here's an over view of the items needed to complete the swap.
#1 1984-1985 GSL SE oil pan and pickup (12a oil pickup will work)
#2 1986-88 clutch, flywheel and 13B motor
#3 1981-1985 12A or 13B front cover (for motor mount locations)
If swapping to carb
#4 Distributor from 1979-85 12A motor
#5 Coils from 81-85 unless you are doing the direct fire (recomended)
#6 aftermarket carb and manifold....
Anyways these are the items you will need, I didn't mention the 13b transmission because you can use the 12a TRANNY . The gearing is a little better in it anyways. Also use the 12a driveshaft to simplify things... Good luck and lemme know if you need help.
