1st Gen Help

Alright guys, just bought an 84 getting towed to my house in the morning. the interior is ok besides the seats and the glove compartment. does this come with an LSD? and this is 2 rotor right? Also wut else can i do to this car performance wise? what kind of options do i have for swaps and does anyone still make high perfomance suspension for this car? Anyone that has one of these I would really appreciate the info and any advise. Thank you for your time.

the best thing first off would be to read the faq at the top of the 1st gen page. depending on the year and trim level will depend if you have an LSD. from 81 and up, if you have a GSL or from 84-85 if you have a GSL or GSL-SE, you will have the LSD. your 7 is a two rotor. its either going to be a 12A or 13B, depending on the year and grade. this wont really apply if someone has replaced your 12A with a 13B or vice versa. you have to look at the housings to be sure. the engine "code" is molded into the rotor housings facing you as you look at the engine. here's a pic of the casting stamp of the engine code that is on a disassembled engine. you'll get the gist though: as far as swaps of mods of any type, make sure you change ALL fluids and filters first, and make sure your car is in top running order before you go and throw on bolt on performance parts. as for suspension, yeah, there's a ton. check out www.mazdatrix.com www.racingbeat.com for some more info. and here, it'll really help if you use the search feature before asking what you may feel to be a common question. chances are someone has already asked and its best to search. welcome to the darkside friend! you'll enjoy that 7. if you get a chance, throw up some pics of your car!

I would go into the Archive and just browse through, amazing amount of information in there to do just about anything you need. Archive is very well maintained with only useful information.
