1Gen clocking 7.71 @ 174MPH

SALINAS INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, PUERTO RICO
1 JUN 2005

For all of you... 1gen owners.
Have you ever seen a 1gen clock 7.71 @ 174MPH?

The car is 3/4 chassis Modified. It weights 2,050Lbs plus the driver. Engine: 800HP 13B Turbo & Alcohol injected. Driver and programer is the one and only Jorge "Oso" Juarbe.
Oso has been famously known from "La Atrevida" a 3/4 chassis Toyota Rotary-Starlet running 7.60 @ 177MPH. Recently defeating the mighty Paul Efantis Toyota Solara and winning the NHRA Sport Compact Nationals.

impressive. a far cry from Hunts Point, the Fountain or Rockaway back in the day, but it does my heart good to see stuff like this. Gen I cars - we STILL got it!

Very impressive. I guess theyre not allowed to mess with the front body work to get better aerodynamics? At those speeds, every little bit will count for alot.

Thumbs up

Why is it we always have to have people that want to criticized someones achievement. I think keeping the car looking as stock as possible (with the front and the sunroof) and still been able to race it at that speed speaks for itself, it's a hell of an accomplishment. All this critics are just plain jealous. Sigan poniendo a Puerto Rico en alto.
