Just a heads up. Do not throw your old blades away or loose the pin. Pins can be hard to come by.

Yes the pins can be removed from the blade. Sometimes it's easier to remove the blade with the pin left in the blade and then remove the pin and insert it into the new blade. The wiper arm has a quick release for the pin.

My car needed new blades when I got it. First I bought nos Anco blades, like it had originally. They look sleek and original but suck compared to modern car blades. I saw threads here about swapping different arms from Miatas, Saturns, etc. to use modern style blades. I tried but wasnt happy with the big bulky Miata arms. I even considered cutting the original arms and welding modern ends on.

Then I wised up.

Almost every blade style /brand at my local walmart will fit our cars. They all have holes through them and a plastic adapter to keep them locked sidesaddle on the pin like the originals. I think the ones I'm using now actually came with new pins, but replacement pins are very easy to get at the parts store or Epay. Anyway, you can put Rainex, Michelin, Anco or whatever you like on your car, and get 18" instead of the stock 17's.

Original style 17" Anco blades look good....

But modern blades like these 18" RainX work much better, mount on the same pins. And only look "bulky" if you hold them side to side with the tiny Anco's.

Pins in my hand are original to the car. The ones in the arm either came with the blades or were $8 on epay. I dont remember but they're easy to get - lots of cars used these in the 70's and 80's.
