1984 RX-7... Buy?

Hello fellow RX-7 enthusiasts. I have the oppurtunity to purchase the following vehicle
1984 RX-7 GSL

It has 132,000 km/79,200 miles

Sadly, I don't know the previous owner, and I do not know if this car is beat up or not. I assume that it has some wear, for $1,850. After purchase, I will have about $1500 CANADIAN dollars left

Should I bother? (This will be my first car)

Thanks
Gaz

well, when you look it over, make sure it's not a rust bucket. some rust is totally expected, but not half the damn car. crank it, see if it takes too long or what not. see if it idles or how much work it might really need. ofcourse take it for a test drive. it should drive real smooth and shift just as fine. if it clunks and sputters but thats about it and you think you can take it on, use that as a selling point to get the price down. but, for only 1500 U.S. give or take, i would go for it! hopefully the body is in pretty good condition. that way you can just work on the motor! WOOOOOO! i will go ahead and welcome you to the rx7 world

Cool looks familiar

looks like the car I just bought 2 weeks ago...I paid 1875 c$ for it, mine only had 98k on it, but needed some work on the clutch
Your probably getting a good deal, mine's an '83 with'a 12a in it

I'm in Calgary if you want a hand looking at it. Have a clean 84 myself.

That price is not bad provided the body and flour is good.

There are a tone of posts on what to look for. IE bin rust, and holes in the flour.

The fact that it is certified is good, kms are low. There are enough Candain Members that if you tell us your location, some one in your area may be willing to help you look.
