And last but not least...the search button, lurk around for a bit and search for a day or two because usually with a little patience and perserverance you'll almost always find your answer.

Good luck with the motor swap. Take the time to clean everything up in the engine bay while the motor is out, it really pays off in the long run.

Just keep a clean fuel filter on it, you'll be fine. A free flowing exhaust is a great start, because no other mods will produce any results if you still have the stock system on.
Later on, maybe consider a Sterling carb. But you'll probably be looking at restoring the suspension too, if it hasn't already been done.
Just try to stay focused:
1. Safety
2. Reliability
3. Performance
4. Appearance

Along with what Kentetsu said, I'd throw a fresh pump on it as well. It's been said that the factory pump is barely adequate, and after 25 years it's not adequate at all under stock conditions.
Cherry picker? If you're tall, grab a buddy of similar height, use two 2x4's on end (or 1 4x4), a length of derby rope (any hardware store will have it, it's the red/white or green/white or blue/white braided nylon stuff) and squat the ****** out. We did it, it's not that hard. Most difficult part was that i'm 6'5 and my buddy that helped is 5'8... Have another buddy handy to guide the motor and trans out of the car. Do the same for the install if you're in a pinch.

How long has the car been sitting? It could have some stuck seals in rotor #2. That could easily cause no compression. Use MMO, SeaFoam (can or Deep Creep), and go through the de-carbonization of a rotary before you start stripping down the block and swapping motors. It may save you a ton of work.

... or you can pull off the exhaust manifold and inspect the apex seals through the exhaust ports. Use the end of a non-sharpened pencil (or something similar) to press on the apex seals and see if they move freely. Worth checking out...

Just remember, if the seals are in tact and just stuck, after you clean out the carbon, to put 3-5 tablespoons of MMO in the motor to help the seals seal and lube them during initial startup.
