1983 rx7 issues help please.

So a friend of mine went out a couple days ago for a cruise night, fired up his 7 checked the oil and drove about 30 minutes from Omaha to Lincoln. On the way the group he was with was doing a good 100 mph just cruising. Got there everything was going fine ended up parking and did a little cruising here and there. Ended up deciding to leave around 2 and on his way back he lost power to his car. All lights to the dash turned on, at first he though it was his alt belt breaking because he has had a couple of them break already. Well he tried turning it over with no luck so he puts it in gear and does a rolling start. The car started up fine and he pulled over to check it out, car sounded fine so he decided to see if he would make it well about 10 minutes later he gets back on the road and the car stalls again, he tried turning it over again... once again no luck so he tries a rolling start again, doing about 40-45 puts it in gear and pops the clutch. This time a plume of white smoke came out of the exhaust, so he pulls over and leaves the car thee over night. Well today he went back and picked it up got it home and I went to go look at it. When he picked the car up he checked the oil and the dip stick came out dry. After talking to previous owner of the car we looked at the oil cooler and saw that oil had definitely beed leaking/spraying from the lines. So we filled the car back up with oil and tried firing it up again. Still nothing but it doesn't sound normal well normal to what it used to sound like. The other thing is, when turing over the engine makes very little to no attempt to fire. We haven't tried testing for spark or compression yet, but we will be doing that tomorrow. But in the meantime does anyone have any ideas to what it could be? Or any other things we could check to narrow it down what so ever? If so your input would be greatly appreciated.

I belive that if you are at a stop and all the dash lights come on it might mean your altanator is bad. that could be the reason its wouldnt start. (didnt send juice to battery when running). put a new alt in in at change the battery. replace the oil cooler lines and then check for other oil leaks. hopfuly you can het it back on the road again

Idk I have had an alt. go out on my 7 and it didn't instantly cut power like it did for my friend. He would have noticed a drop in his battery because he watches his gauges like a hawk.

First, try de-flooding it and clean the plugs. If that fails, compression test. 55 miles in 30 minutes, not good. I've driven that stretch of I-80 many times, too many troopers for that speed.
