1983 driveshaft flange ?

Hi list,

I'm new here. I just recently put a 83 gsl rear axle into my Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite. I'm looking for the Ujoint flange off an 83 driveshaft in order to build my new driveshaft. Does anyone have one? I have the 83 axle flange. I just need the ujoint flange.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Robert!

Hi Robert,

Nice to know someone else out there that is or has done what I'm doing. I have a website for our Frogeyes at www.frogeyesprite.org so please come by and register and be a part of the community. I have detailled what I'm doing there. I'm looking forward to talking with you.

In short I have a ribcase tranny going to the 83 gsl axle. My friendt has a driveline from a sprite that had a mazda rotary with a sprite axle. He's going to reverse it and put on the spline yoke for the sprite ribcase and then I'll have the rx7 ujoint end which I plan to connect the ujoint flange to. Then I should be able to complete my connection to the rx7 axle flange.

Come on by my forum and say hello!

Vitory at the local pick and pull!

Well I just got back from the pick and pull, what an experience. I had massive amounts of mud under the RX7. I took two hoods/bonnets from some misc. cars and laid them on top of the mud pit. High and dry, it worked great. During all of this it was raining! Everything actually went really smooth. I got the drive shaft out in about 20 minutes and I was out of there for only $22.00. I did not bother with the axles or pumpkin. It had drum brakes, so I could not score any calipers or rotors.

Next step, wait for my buddy to send me the modified drive shaft and then adapt the correct ujoint flange to it.

So far so good.

tbc,

Frog
