1982 Mazda RX-7 - Thoughts on rebuild?
Okay, I have to ask this on my 144K 82 RX-7!
The car runs very strong, very much like my original 1982 with only 20K miles back in 1983! However, I already have the rats nest and carb removed to get at the intake gasket (anti-freeze leak - collected on Carb plate) and was thinking... Maybe I should pull the engine and put new gaskets throughout? Maybe new seals as required? Just amazing that after all these years the rubber orings and seals work...
Thoughts from those that have been in this position?
It supposedly does not use much oil or antifreeze (I drove it but 2 days before ripping her apart).
Thanks much,
Scott

Okay, the O-rings literally fell into pieces once the intake manifold was off. So, that is goodness, now the question!
Anybody have experience with the rotor O-rings? They hold up after all these years or should they be replaced out of due course?
Thanks,
Scott

Dude if the motor runs strong leave it alone! Change the intake gasket and o-rings of course and drive away! No need to do a rebuild just because your motor hit certain miles.
