i never said that you didn't know anything bad83. i just wanted to discourage him from getting a $900 600cfm carb that would probably lose driveability over a boost prepped nikki.

I'm going to jump in with this and ask what else have you purchased to monitor what's going on? You absoultely NEED a GOOD boost gauge. What year is the turbo? Is the wastegate ported? With an open exhaust you are GUARANTEED to be boost creeping, which, coupled with an unlocked dizzy and an inadequet fuel system, will net you a blown motor. On that subject if the wastegate isn't ported it needs to be done. Then you can get a boost controller to keep it reasonable. At this point you NEED a bigger fuel pump. A stock pump will not even come close to supplying enough for a turbo. Locked dizzy of course is a must and it seems you're taking care of that. Now you NEED a full wideband controller. This is what will tell you if you're running lean or not. Those are the absolute musts if you wish to proceed further. Oh, and put your fan shroud back on

Greddy RS. Same BOV that I am running now. The sound really changes on them depending on the turbo and how much boost you run.

I'm not getting into any debate on this topic either guys. I just know what it takes to make a 12A turbo blowthrough. Safe, reliable, and fun. My car isn't the only blowthrough 12A that I have built or setup. The last one was a bridgeport 12A, Weber 45 sidedraft, GT35R turbo. Made almost 300 rwhp at 12psi. It's the last one in the video.

The first one is Tim's SA. She's a sweet little number

If you give me a list list of parts and where to get them it would make things a lot easier for me to figure things out.

I am running a stock Fuel injected Fuel pump !!!! in fact the car is running like a champ now ! however i don't want to blow the engine ! I already contacted the Shack for a locked dizzy and boost gauge !!!

I welded the T25 turbo to the rest of my exhaust and so far not problems at all, except for the car dying if i don't feather the throttle !!!

Lock the dizzy yourself, it's sooooo simple. You just take it apart, remove the springs and weld the weights. As for the boost guage, get an autometer from any speed shop and a universal bracket.

There is a reason he isn't on here anymore. $125 for a locked dizzy plus core? It takes 5 minutes to lock a dizzy, plus no extra parts are needed. Geez, what a rip........

125 and 20$ shipping for a 5 minute job? damn... plus the guy NEVER replys to anyone and ive read about so many people not recieving parts from him or waiting months, **** if you dont want to lock your stock dizzy i can sell you a stock one for 30$ and youll get it with in atleast 4 days lol probably less. pm me if interested

also search "locked dizzy" to find out how to do it. easy stuff

but ill give you the rundown quick

basicly
1.remove vaccum lines from dizzy
2.remove cap and rotor
3.remove metal dust cap inside dizzy
4.remove springs
5.replace dust cap, rotor, cap
6.start car, get out timing light and set the yellow line to 10* to 12* advanced
7.shut off car (duh)
8.pull cap, rotor, and dust plate(carefully)
9.the weights will be at full advance now so put a tack weld on each weight to hold them in place(NOT a big gobbin bead, just a tack on each and try to make them pretty even on both weights)
10.reasemble
11.recheck timing for the hell of it
12.enjoy a cold pabst and play with turbos

if you dont have a welder then you can just pull the springs, set the advance and run it like that until you can have someone else tack weld the weights, it will be OK but its much much safer for your engine to just make sure they are welded

This may be the wrong place to ask but why do you lock the dizzy for turbo setups. I understand that more retard is needed in proportion to boost levels, and vac advance is removed, but a 13bt ignition map i saw ran advance over the low range up to say 4krpm similar to what mech advance would provide, the only difference being that boost retard is also programmed in..

considering this I dont understand why you wouldn't run mech advance and drop the base timing by say 6 degrees or whatever for a permanent boost retard. AFAIK a fully locked dizzy will have 0 advance..?

The reason you lock the timing on a first gen dizzy blowthrough is the fact that the dizzy will NOT retard the timing under boost. At 10-15 psi under full boost you would only need a maximum timing of 5-10 degrees. So you lock the timing to where you would need the it at full boost.

Ahh ok I think I get it now. So with the full lock, timing at low rpm would be roughly the same, and the mech advance as rpm's increase is kind of cancelled out by the fact that boost is (most likely) increasing as well and you need more retard.

Something I thought of was hooking up the vac advance with a one way valve in the line to prevent boost getting through.. could be a bit smoother on light throttle.. Has anyone tried this?

if you did that wouldnt the advance stop or drop off after half throttle while boost is still increasing making a lean running engine? but idk i could be wrong
