I just recently got a 1980 rx7 from my grandpa. It has been rusting away in his backyard for about 4 years now and needs some work. I've got the engine running again and other than a few dents and some rusty spots I think i can have the car good as new in a few months. The car seems to run well, but i would like to do a few things to make it accelerate better, but i dont want to turbo charge the old engine which has 170,000 miles on it. Has anyone got any suggestions?

 

how bad is the rust behind the storage bins? this is the most known spot for bad rust (but fixable most the time) if it is bad take a pic and put it up here

 

It has 2 holes rusted all the way through, but i am going to grind them out and make metal plates to weld back in place. I've been trying to figure out how to put pictures on here and havent figured it out yet, but if you can tell me how to do that i will have them on here.

 

yea good idea on welding in knew plates. To put up pictures make a account at photobucket.com and upload the pics on that and it gives you 3 different types of posting options. You then copy the address it makes for your pics then just paste the URL or other option it gives you here in your post. thats the way i post pics up here, there is other ways though
