1980 ignition into 1979

1980 ignition into 1979
Can anyone tell me how to make a 1980 ignition work in a 1979? I know that lots of people say that the 1980 ignition is prone to problems but i havent had any problems with it not working in the original car. Also it will be a big improvement from the jery riged point system in the 79.
