i'd love to know how many North American 79's still exist and the VIN numbers . that has to be the earliest still alive. Mine was the 79 LE model ... much later

Is there an RX-7 registry? So we can find out what car is the earliest, how many are left, anything like this around? I think there'd be support for it.

I dont know why they do that.
Well if they waited untill '85 to *start* making '85 models, you wouldn't be able to buy one untill june or july.

Here's a link to my "1978" RX-7. There's a couple threads on it, but long story short: Had cancer in Jan. '05, last chemo in June '05, Make-A-Wish paid a body shop some money to restore it for me.

When i get to my storage unit where my car is having its Interior/Exterior redone I will take some Pics.

Would it be wrong to upgrade the suspension to GSL-SE suspension for lowering springs and Tokiko shocks/Struts, power windows, power left hand side mirror.. etc... due to its rarity I guess?

I dont see a reason not to do the rear end, But I would not change the mirror.
