17x7.5 F:205/40 R: 235/40 could it fit???
Im looking for wheels for my new Rx7 body (I have already built a TII converted 82 and I am transfering everything to an 85 SE body and susp)
these are the wheels I want
NexO TS-8
they are 17x7.5 42offset which would seam a bit tight in the front, as the Kosie 15x7s I had on my 82 were real close to the spring. It was mainly the tire which was close, I cant remember how close the rim was. I know 205/40/17s should fit alright in the front. The website guarantees that they will fit.
On the rear, I want as much rubber as possible. I have seen 225s on numerous cars, but the tires I want are available in 225/45 and 235/40 I would much rather have the 235

...really 215/35/18"s with no rubbing in the front what so ever?

I did alot of seaching and test fitting before I came up with this setup. I am running wheel adapters to get me off the stupid 4X114.3 freekin bolt pattern. Sorry about that, I sometimes get a little emotional over Mazda's choice of bolt pattern. But anyway, I am running Konig 17's with 205-40's on the front and 215-40s on the rear. I had to shave some of the lip off the inside of the rear fender wells. BUT, with a full tank of gas, passenger, and my speaker box with two 10's, I still bottom out in the rear sometimes. I don't even think about lowering the car. Anyway, here's a pic of my '83 with 17's. Hope this helps your decision.

I hope you realize any universal 4 bolt wheel fits... they are 4x100 and 4x114.3
4x114.3 fits nissan 240 and honda accords, ae86... the list goes on
4x110mm is the hard one

The bolt pattern isn't the main issue. This is not a front wheel drive car. The offset with the combination of the bolt pattern is what makes the wheel hunt very hard. Trust me, I used to work in a wheel shop. I used the wheel adapters to let me use a regular front wheel drive offset. BTW, most of your duel pattern wheels are 4x100 and 4x4.5. I searched this out to great lengths to get the best setup you can without all the rubbing associated with sticking just anything on there. 4x4.5 is not the same as 4x114.3. Trust me, I don't think fileing out holes on a key part of your vehicle staying on the road is a good idea. Just putting my $.02 out there.
