160 degree thermostat
Trending Topics
theres a bypass in the pump when you gut the thermostat like we do for racing applications we have to tap and plug the bypass otherwise the cool water will circulate back through the rad and the hotter water will just stay in the motor. When you block it, it forces the water to circulate through the whole system.
as for the original question. I don't understand why you would want a 160 degree themostat to protect the motor. With a properly functioning cooling system, stock thermostat should work fine.

ok i don't have pics but when you take the spout off the water pump when you change the thermostat, look down into the water pump itself. directly below where the t-stat was, is about 1/4" hole. that's the "bypass" i am talking about.
