You're tire choices are quite limited in 14". Go to tirerack.com, see what they have. I can recommend Yokohama AVS Intermediates. I also liked the Bridgestone RE-71, which has been replaced by something else. I'd use a 60 series tire, the wider the better.

It's really hard to find good tires in 14 inch sizes, especially in Canada.
I have 205/60-14 Toyo Proxes... I can't remember exactly which series of Proxes they are.
I would have gotten the AVS', but they aren't available in Canada. As well, I believe they have been discontinued by Yokohama.
I like the Toyo's very much, although they definitely are not as good as the AVS (a friend has the Yoko's in the 13 inch size). I would not hesitate to recommend either of these.

I never had any problems with Dunlop D60 tires.
Had them on my 89 TII
and have Dunlop Sport Rovrs 255 55 17 on my Nissan Xterra.
On my wife's Nissan SER I put Yokohoma Avids
They are a 80,000 mile tire and handle awsome. Have had them now for 18,000 miles. I paid 57.00 each from Tires.com
As for size I would stick with the factory GSL-SE size witch
is 205 60 14
Good luck

check and see if kumho makes a tire in that size... i've heard lots of good stuff about their tires. and sizewise, a 205 60r14 should fit just fine all around with no rubbing. that'll be close enough for your speedo to be relatively accurate too

For worries about speedo error go to the RX7.ORG site and check out thier tire size calculator. It will gove you approximations on rolling diameter of different tire sizes and how much they vary from your stock size.
hope this helps!

Miata.net has reviews of several tires in 14"
If you can find them, Bridgestone RE71 are some of the best recommended 14" tires for Miatas which if you are not paying attention, is dang near identical to the 84-85 SE rx7s in HP, weight, weight distro.
Sears told me they can get the RE71's though I have my doubts.
Average price for the tire was $75 or so but Sears wanted $100

Also, do a search on miata.net forum for "RE71". That subject is a hot topic.

Goto tirerack.com, get to the tech section and find the formula for measuring overall tire height. They will explain the ins and outs of this better than i can (in the interest of what size to run). i can tell you that I am currently running on AVS intermediates 205 14 60 on my 85 SE (without rubbing) in everything but the snow and they are phenomenal and CHEEEEP @ tirerack.
