Question 13B Question

Hi folks, one question. What is that metal rod that runs down the front of my engineo? It starts up to the right near the TPS and runs straight down, with a bend or two, to a spot way down that I cant see. See, it's binding, I just discovered this today. It is not going up and down like it is supposed too and I believe it is the cause of my funny idle problems. Can someone enlighten me as to what this metal rod is and where it goes too? Thanks.

???

How come I cannot see where it goes to on my engine. Here's the good news, it does go up when I hit the throttle. Bad news, it never comes down to it's resting position, it hangs up and sticks, you have to force it down. Good news, this might be the reason why my car is using so much oil. I don't think I will be able to unstick it from where it is sticking so I think I'll be taking it to a dealer to fix . Anyone know a good rotary shop in the detroit/ann arbor michigan area, or within 50 miles of that? Thanks.

You might get a better view of what's going on if you got underneath the car and removed the bottom cover. I really don't think you need to take it to a dealer. You can find a good used omp for under $100.
