13B into SA questions??

Plan on putting a 13B in to a 1st gen that originally had 12A... I currently have the SA style mounts in the engine bay. I have both the early 13B 4 port front bracket and the old 12A front bracket... also have corresponding front plates... wondering if one of these would work or do I need to fab.... I would like to keep the tranny in stock setup/location.. I realize that the front of the motor will be slightly longer that a 12A... so is there a easily solution... a thread archived ... I searched no luck.. seams a common thing thou... basically, want to put a 13B in a 80 chassis SA...... info please..

also has anyone ever fabbed in a 2nd gen rear subframe.... the whole suspension will mount off of that minus strut tops.... looking at this for an IRS option....

the brackets are not what matters... the brackets are identical from the 12A to the 13B... my repu had a totally different style bracket than my truck, it had a 76-78 jdm 13b 4 port in it... the way to do it is take ur 12A bracket, or 13B bracket, whichever, and flatten it... did that on mine, it went in absolutely perfect... i had to cut off a small notch on the side of the mount corresponding to the side the oil cooler connections is on, but other than that it was direct in no problems. heres a pic of my mount

lots of others have also cut out the hole, to be 20mm further back... i like my way personally, minimal cutting, i just used a torch and a sledgehammer to flatten it

doesn't racing beat sell the front bracket to mount a 13b into 12a chassis?

why buy one when u can make it for free...

and checking racing beat, its EXACTLY what i did.... minus the notch, which makes me think it might have clearance issues with the oil pan.

edit: oh yeah i forgot to mention in my post, u have to use an 84-85 GSL-SE oil pan to do it...
