13B Dipstick question

Hi all,

Running a freshly installed series 4 13BT with GSL-SE oil pan, just wanted to draw on other peoples experience with this swap as to which dipstick they used. As we don't have the GSL-SE over here I have nothing to make a comparison with regarding length. Looking at it logically I'd need a GSL-SE stick but for all I know they might be of similar length to other 13B sticks so any help would be appreciated.

I'll measure the length of a couple of mine when I get home from work and get back to you soon.

I have a stock S4 turbo engine in the shed, and a 13BT with a GSL-SE sump in my S3 in the garage, so i'll see if their is any difference in the dipsticks on the 2 engines.

Cam...

the difference is going to be if there is a little tube on the iron or not, the gsl-se dipstick just goes right into the iron, the FC's have a little tube that the dipstick goes into.

oil level in the pan is about the same, its actually right around the oil pan to block seam

If it was me, I would just use the dipstick that matches the block!

Okay cheers guys- When I had the oil pan off I remember the dipstick high level mark being about level with the block seam , the two oil pans are near as dammit the same depth so I'll go with that.

Thanks Cam-I'd be interested to hear the outcome.
