HAHA, everyone says that. Even wacky said they were, nope!! Secret model ARE's!! lol. So yea, the deal is good eh?? That's funny how that worked out. What time are you coming down?

Hellias 01-25-09 10:03 AM

when you say cosmetic. did you mean getting rid of the side blinker lights? is that legal?

The left/right turn signals are in the front bumper. I removed the side markers. I doubt it's illegal considering mostly all newer cars dont have side markers on the front or rear fenders anyways.

Update:

Getting my Griffin aluminum radiator this week. Also getting my first MSD 6AL box, still searching for a good deal on one more. Installing my S5 alternator that I had polished tomorrow. The carb hat and turbo exhaust manifold are cleaned up, polished and ready to go.

Still need to do my fuel pump and FPR upgrade. I'm set on the mallory FPR but can't decide on a fuel pump yet. Trying to go cost effective but something good, hopefully 225lph. Any input or advice would be great.

Not sure if I want to upgrade to a coil over kit and get illuminas before I turbo the car.. just a thought. I'm okay with my RB springs and tokico blues for now. Definitely need to get some new tires though, my Falken Azenis are starting to get worn down and they grab the road way too much, feels unsafe on the freeway. Anyone have a good recommendation for some replacement tires? I'm running 205/50/R15's.

tigermack 02-03-09 12:58 PM

Why don't you like the grip? If you're gonna turbo, you need the grip.

If you felt this grip, you'd be scared. I can't drive normally without holding onto the steering wheel firmly at all times otherwise I risk it pulling hard in one direction and possibly hitting someone!

tigermack 02-03-09 02:25 PM

Talking to the wrong person. All my cars pull to cracks. lol

Kerebrus 02-03-09 02:39 PM

Hahaha, oh well then :)

Hit Redline 02-03-09 05:31 PM

Robert should have my FPR when I was carbed. If he does, you can have it for half what I payed. :) He should also have my GSL-SE pump, again cheap for you sir.

Nice! Thanks Chris, I'll be sure to ask him about the FPR. Also wanted to tell you was I'm finally getting my hands on one of those CP Racing Strut Bars.. like the one you have. I'm even having it nickle coated just like yours, want that pimp look :icon_tup: :)

thunkrd 02-09-09 12:03 AM

do the strut bars clear the s5 alternator fine? am thinking about getting both

Hit Redline 02-09-09 12:13 AM

No issue with clearance.

Kerebrus 02-09-09 12:28 AM

Thanks Chris. But yea, there are no clearance issues. I'm going to be using an S5 alternator and the CP Racing strut bar just like shown above.

Kerebrus 02-09-09 12:31 AM

Update:
I'm going to be getting a CP Racing Strut bar, S5 alternator (just polished), Griffin aluminum radiator, 2x MSD 6AL boxes, MSD fuel pump and a Mallory 4309 FPR this week. Will take some pics when I get a chance :)

Kerebrus 02-10-09 09:50 PM

ARE, enkei's, whats the difference. I use them rims on my RX-3's for storage purposes. well, I used a 14x7 enkei 92 in my son's FB as I refused to let him use the epsilons, SSR's and panas. I dont think he even noticed the difference since his FB is pretty fast.

Hahaha  true. But you're right, those others are a lot more pimp. I wish I had some epsilons or SSR's...

Cleaned up the engine bay a bit today. Also decided to pour in some MMO (Marvelous Mystery Oil) in hopes of getting rid of some damn carbon build up. Tons of smoke, was fun. Planning on installing my polished S5 TII alternator this week as well as the 2x MSD 6AL boxes I picked up. Also having my CP Racing strut tower bar nickle coated as we speak! Recorded a quick vid to show the effects of MMO, here ya guys go:

Rotarx7 02-26-09 02:38 PM

damn MMO! i was about to buy some today but i got SEAFOAM instead. im suprised i found it at AUTOZONE. not a lot of places carry it.
p.s. coilovers CBZ. coilovers!

Kerebrus 03-03-09 10:49 AM

Update:

Unfortunately I've hit some bad luck and seems like I'm going to be taking a different route. I've thought for a while that the motor was strong and he is indeed but it seems the coolant seals have been going and they are going fast at this point. I've decided to pick up a S5 TII core motor which I'm having fully rebuilt with new apex seals, full street port, and painted housings. Once it's done, I'm going to drop in the motor and drive it NA for the time being until I can fork out the rest of the money for the turbo setup. I think this will be a good idea and give me time to break in the motor before slapping the turbo on.

I also plan to get the Re-Speed coilover kit and upgrade my Tokico's to illuminas. Still need to upgrade the fuel pump and get an FPR as well. Too much to do, but it's fun all in all. More updated to come.

You call that smoke, that's child's play. When the neighbors come over and ask if they need to call the fire dept., then you have smoke. When you do a burnout 6 blocks from the house and 10 minutes later it's still wafting down the street past the house/shop, then you have smoke. When you redline through 1st and 2nd gear, come to a stop and can't see anything behind OR in front of you, then you have smoke.

Engine bay looks good, keep it up. :icon_tup:

It's not smoking on start up that bad at all, but because the coolant seals are going there's too much pressure and the car is incredibly hard to start everyday.
