The Sumito HTR 200 looks pretty good. The lower treadwear rating, wider size, and non-mud+snow tread should equal better grip than the Falken 512. So HTR 200 195's or 205's? The chart on TireRack says they are both meant to fit a minimum of 5.5 in. It seems there are mixed opinions about which is better.
EDIT: I just read some reviews on TireRack, and it seems that pretty much everybody with a rear-wheel drive and some apparent knowledge said that the sidewall rigidity in the Sumito's is crap and most said they wouldn't by them again. Any comment? |
Tirerack. com for sure, sumitomo's 215/50/13's under 50 each, set of 4 on mine, handles great :bigthumb:

215's? Isn't that kinda... too big? This *is* a 5.5 inch rim =/

ok ok so i am so lost on tire readings....SORRY I DO NOT MEAN TO THREAD HIJACK...BUT............ i have always that for example (205/60/14) the 60 is the width of the tire......and i thought that the 205 is how high (tall) it is....i think i have my numbers ass backwards don't i??..... So what would be the widest tire i could put on a 14 x 6 rim????

So, for a 14x6, you could probably fit from a 185/70/R14 to a 225/45/R14. Depends a lot on what kind of tire you're looking for. But usually, the shorter the sidewall, the wider the tire. |
oh ok sweetness ....thanks Rusty that helped alot!!!

No problem.
Just search for a 14 inch tire, pick one you like, then check the list to see what tire widths fit what rim widths. Tirerack has them listed out on a chart. Pretty easy to use |
