12aPP questions

Hey, my dad has a 12A MFR Peripheral Port motor he is going to put in my/his 85 RX7. What kind of intake does he need and what is the best carb for this application? Also, what other kinds of prep are we going to need to do for handling the power of this 310 factory rated HP monster?! What is the strongest LSD we can put under the car? Anything else needed for it?

Thanks in advance!
-Josh

Forget the carb. Put some twin 50mm throttle bodies with efi on it. You won't regret it.

I think he wants to keep it as simple and cheap as possible... but I'll look into RotaryShack.

51 mm weber IDA (modified 48) one hell of a big fuel pump. manifold is a short and direct as you can make it, I think that RB sells one for it as well as the carb. and BTW when you start talking PP nothing is cheap (at least not if its new) the carb will set you back a large chunk of cheese, and I hope that the internals were built up as the PP runs at the upper limit RPM wise 7500~10500 is the typical power band for a well tuned pp with a straight pipe exhaust, leading to a trumpet.

Call Albert.

Check out these carbs.

The big one is a 62mm for a 13BPP with a HUGE extended fuel bowl. A necessity for P-Ports. The other is a 48mm with extended bowl. You would most likely need the 51mm like kenn chan pointed out. Racing Beat doesn't list the MFR manifolds anymore, but ask them and they may have some lying around.
