Question 12A Turbo or 13B Turbo?

I know some of you guys are a lot of knowledge in this matter than me. What do you think is better for a GSL-SE engine swap a 12A Turbo or 13B Turbo II? I found this web page with different engines.

Thank you,

13b, about the same amount of work to put it in the car, and since its it was sold here parts are easy to find

For some reason, it seems wrong to put a 12A-anything into a car that came with a 13B. That said, the 12AT is a remarkable package. It's the closest thing we have to a V8...full boost just off idle, runs out of steam around 6K. 180 ft/lbs of torque with only ~160hp. It is also markedly easier to swap due to the retarding distributor. A Megasquirt or SDS or fuel-only Haltech would be a cake-walk.

Last week I finished up a 12AT with a Microtech LT10S for a customer. I just love that instant boost and torquey feel. It will be even better when the engine is broken in and the boost is raised a notch. It's certainly not a setup with high-HP potential with such a tiny turbo, no stock intercooler and only two injectors, but it is the mother of simplicity and is a very respactable performer.

When talking of the 12at from Japan, then I say go with the 13b TII. More power, parts everywhere, etc. etc. If you are talking about turboing the 12a then that would be more of a feeling of accomplishment if you do it all yourself. Chances are you will rebuild the motor first, then build the entire turbo setup, buy the carb that is boost prepped, etc. etc. etc. Its just as much work as dropping a 13b TII, perhaps more, but then you can still say you are a 1.1 liter. Either way, you research and make up your own mind. Its going to be a blast to drive either way.
