12a street port weber dcoe blow thru project

Ive got a very cean very nice 1982 12a RX7. But its gettin tooo damn slow now.

I took the stock 12A out last weekend and replaced it with a street ported 12A I got from a friend.
(some of you might know him, Karism, hes bussy sticken a 13B in a beatle. )www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=659739

We got no idea who done the porting or if its done right or not. The engine starts damn easy and idles 700rpm no problem.

Took it out for a drive and was absolutaly dissapointed, its even slower than the stock one. Keepin in mind I`m still using a Nikki.
So I played with the timing but didnt realy make a dif.

I know I`m supposed to change the jets and all but would it realy make that big a dif?

Me and my friend talked about it and recon that the axhaust ports might be to big.
So, bein a turbo lover I thought about stikken a gen2 series 4 stock turbo on it and do a blow thru carby jobby.

Readin a bit on here I realized that the Nikki would be way to pain in the **** to do so I`m thinking of a weber DCOE.

I know there are a lot of blow thrus out there and would love it if anybody could point me in da right direction. I have a 40 weber but I know poeple gonna say its too small.

saying this, we had a 40 dellorto dceo(modified) in his mild bridge and it did loads better than a modified nikki.

But, anyway, please anybody any ideas. I dont realy wanna go FI, some of us have a small budget.

Karism, my friend, has been on here a while now so I thought joinen the club would be damn cool!

40 Is really too small ... I'm going 47mm ITB's for my SP. Also how sure are you then that the engine has been streetported? Also when you say slow, how slow is slow its all in prespective.

before we stuck the engine in I had a feel at the ports and you can see in the intake side of the ports they are much bigger than standard.
Also the exhausts are loads bigger too. What I did look for on the exhaust is wether its been ported upwards or lower and by the looks of it it looks like its been ported lower.
I drive a `99 Golf GTi, and I wasted it with my stock 12A. Now, with this SP, I only just beat it.

Lots of people think bigger is better with exhaust and end up losing power.
