12a Rebuild: Removing and installing Rats Nest -What I did

Maybe old news, but I wanted to document what I did so next time will go quicker.
So I thought I would share.

While researching engine hoist & stand, I decided to take off as much of the components as I could before removing the 12a. And I wanted to see how everything was connected.
For the left-rear nut on the carb I purchased a 12mm flex-gear wrench. Worth every penny even if you only use it once. I removed the carb and intake manifold separately and before the taking off the rats nest. I found I could then reach the nest’s 12mm bolt into the rear rotor housing from the right side (image RN1). Later I found that the flex-gear wrench could access the bolt from the left side. I could not get the flex-gear to fit from the right, and it never dawned on me to try from the left (lesson learned).

With the rats nest off it was good time to replace the hoses and clean it. I found the frame is two parts: the lower frame holds all the metal vacuum lines, the top holds all the solenoids. (image RN2)

I decided on reinstalling the engine components while still on the engine stand. Exhaust manifold, then intake, then carb. Later the rats nest.

After 20 minutes of trying to get the hidden 12mm bolt started, I came up with an alternate plan:
Image RN3 (steps 1-5)
1. Remove the 12mm bolt on the front rotor housing
2. Remove the 10mm bolt holding the top frame to the bottom frame
3. Disconnect the 3 vacuum hoses on the left side of the grey, yellow and blue solenoids, from the bottom frame metal lines
4. Carefully, unsnap at the solenoids and slide them to the right-side freeing up the top frame
5. Slide the top frame under the solenoids to the left-side
6. Install the 12mm bolt on the front rotor housing for alignment of the bottom frame: Image RN4.
7. Install the 12mm bolt on the rear rotor housing: Image RN5.
8. Remove the 12mm bolt on the front rotor housing and reposition the top frame
9. Install the 12mm bolt on the front rotor housing and the 10mm bolt at the rear, to secure the top frame to the bottom frame
10. Slide the solenoids back onto the top frame until they snap into place
11. Reconnect the 3 vacuum hoses coming from the grey, yellow and blue solenoids: RN6.

Another hint. Before putting the bolts back in that hold it down, snake the solenoid wiring harness where it needs to be.
