12A oil leak problem (long post)

I believe that 12As are comon to oil leaks. For my car before there would be oil spitting out everywhere in my 12A and hood. It would leak onto the exhaust manifold as well causing smoke to come out of the hood on a stop and after the stop, to a go smoke comes out from underneath. I sourced two seperate, which I believe, oil lines that were joined together by hoses that would overlap. These hoses that overlap the lines were impregnated because they have lost grip to connect the lines together. I replaced the overlapping hoses but I still have a leak. These two lines are located underneath the carb(you can see a little red hose under the air cleaner unit in the attatchment). I don't think the oil sprays everywhere now, but there are oil puddles that form(see other attatchment). I thought it would be the o-rings on the oil filter tower but it doesn't seem possible that this would be the case. Maybe a gasket? If so how much would I have to invest to fix this problem(I want to keep the original engine)? I plan to also take it to an official Mazda factory repair shop to fix this because I believe nothing beats factory specs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

well, the two lines to the carb are the oil injection lines... they must be connected to the carb nipples at all times the engine is running or you might as well buy a new engine now. those lines come from the oil metering pump, incase you wanted to go info hunting.

as for the other leak, if its coming out where that picture shows, its called a dowel pin leak because theres a dowel pin just inside there thats under oil pressure.. the seals there dryy out with heat and age and you get pools on top of the Mazda logo.
when my engine started doing this i switched to castrol something or other oil that "helps recondition used engine seals" an the leaking slowed to a tolerable rate after 3 oil cycles.
the other alternative is to rebuild your engine.

Thanks

THANKS A LOT!!! i will definately look into the dowel pin oil leak and hopefully no more oil leaks! then its just a matter of steam cleaning my engine and clean or get a whole new exhaust to stop the smoking... oh and clean the undercarrige.. i hate oil leaks.. so messy to clean but cant have cars without it
