CT 12a install leak!!

I just installed a rebuilt 12a, started up no problem, however i do have a problem. An oil leak!! It's leaking between the engine and the transmission, oil hit's the fylwheel and spits it all over the inside of the transmision case and then drips down, a lot. It is clean oil i checked the engine oil and it seems to be fine. Anyone have any ideas where it could be comming from? Thnaks

Sounds like the rear main seal is leaking. It is found beneath the flywheel and is a cheap part to buy. You do however have to remove the tranny to take the flywheel off and replace it. That is about the only place it can come from on the inside of the bellhousing if it is engine oil.

If you have seating problems with a stock rear main seal try using an RX-8 seal since the wall is narrow and will slide in further where it mates to the flywheel. Solved my leaking rear main seal so far so good

Also on the 13B engines( more used to than the 12A) there is a O'ring that goes under the rear stationary gear that "could" be leaking as well.
