12A Dipstick Question

I found a 6 year old thread that answered part of my question, but not all - I have the measurement from the base of the grommet that rests on the block, to the bottom of a 12A dipstick, measuring at 10 11/16th inches.

Can someone tell me the distance up from the bottom that the hash marks for oil level are, and how long the hash marks are?

Different years had different length hash marks. So I could tell you one measurement and someone else could tell you something else and you'd think one of us is lying. I say just go with what you have. Fill until it's at the F mark. Done.

These engines will tolerate a little overfilling. There's no silly crankshaft down in the pan to worry about.

4.4 quarts if my memory is working but the filter takes a bit depending on its size.

Also don't forget the FMOC if the car has one. It will hold some oil. Not a big thing if only doing an oil change but if you replace the FMOC make sure to run the car then check the oil level.
