12a to 13b conversion questions.. sorry i knoww another one
Ok so ive gathered alot of information on the swap but the more i look into it the more it gets confusing i have a few questions that im stumped on and im going to explain what i know or what i think i know.
My plan is using a 86 13b , and running a RB intake with a holley carb. Using the 12a front cover and dizzy, and using a gslse oil pan and slotting the 12a front brace
So the basic of the swap would be
-12a front cover
-12a dizzy
-13b main pulley
-gsl se oil pan
-slot the 12a engine brace
-12a trans
Question 1- if im using the 12a front cover will it just bolt up and im done? Some people say you have to do an oil pellet mod ,and others say you dont?
And racing beat said i can use any first gen front cover gasket
Question 2- do i need a gslse oil pickup tube? Or will my 86 13b tube work?
Question 3- what do i do with the actuators? Leave them in or pull them out? If i leave them is there anything i need to do?

1. Yes, just bolt it up and go. Oil pellet or block off from RB doesn't matter IMPO. Use the first gen gasket, but make sure you use the correct oil pressure regulator o-ring. You can use Mazdatrix's website to find out which o-ring you'll need.
2. Perhaps, and no. Use the 12A oil pickup tube. Its the right position for the oil pan you will use.
3. I pull them out. Dunno if that's good or bad, but they don't seem to do any good just rattling around in there.
I'd personally use an RB intake and drill it for the Nikki. It'll work, just gotta make your nikki a wee bit bigger for the 13B.

3. I pull them out. Dunno if that's good or bad, but they don't seem to do any good just rattling around in there.
