12 A Turbo/13 B Turbo Hybrid Motor???
Hey my fellow wankel heads. I was sitting with my friend last night and we were talking about our FB's. He's got a Maria Mode One GTO body kit with 12 inch wide tires in the back and 10's in the front. He also is building a street port turbo 13B engine w/dynamic balance, hybrid turbo, HUGE front mount intercooler, etc. It should put out about 300 before the hybrid turbo is put on, 400? after the to4 compressor/stock second gen exhaust turbine is put on.
Anyhow, I couldn't figure out what I was going to do. First I wanted a 12A turbo, then a 13B turbo, then a 12A bridgeport, then a 13B bridgeport.
But a couple nights ago I had an awesome idea. 12 A turbo with a BIG street port. That's not all. It will employ all sorts of turbo 2 stuff. Since I'm poor and relatively smart, I was thinking about a turbo 2's computer, turbo with a custom intake and exhaust manifold, injectors, intercooler (top mount and just cut and custom mount a hood scoop). To get those injectors to work with a 12A, my friend told me about GSL-SE intermediate housings and how their oil seals are NOT there; rather, they are like 12A's and they are completely smooth. So, they bolt right up and work.
At first, I was wondering about the workability of the turbo 2's computer working on a 12A. Would it work? My friend said that if you do a big enough street port, it should flow as much air as a stock 13B four port. Cool, I thought. So now all I need is the money....
Thoughts? Suggestions? Post em!

P.S. My fender flares came in yesterday. 7" wides in the front and 8" wides in the back!

do a search on moremazda - he's a dude that put a TII turbo on his 12a, and did it all with hardware store parts... done in-expensively, but looks good and runs well.

I did a 12a turbo with a TII turbo simialer to MoreMazdas. Infact he was my imperation, and I improved on it using a 12a mildported. The thread is called "Wacky's Turbo write-up". Good reading, took long time to write btw. Read through it fully and then ask more questions as needed. 12a and a turbo go together well if you do it correctly. Just don't over do the boost my friend..

You seem to be thinking an afi set-up on a 12A, the best way is build a hybred using a 13B housing to get the injector locations.
Not certain how far you can port a turbo before you have boost leakage problems. Ita limitation you should seek expert opinion on

I thought GSL-SEs were 6 port? Anyway that would be a good Idea. Budget turbo setup is the way to go. Maybe you can find a really cheap turbo II motor but if not go for it
