[HELP] Turbo Manifold, FB.

Hey guys, I need you're help. So Im swapping a 13B REW into my FB. Im planning a single turbo upgrade. The motor im getting is a mild street port keg (no manifolds just bare). So Im wondering if anyone has done done the single turbo swap into a first gen and if so, which turbo manifold did you use? Preferably stainless steel with clean welds and a t4 flange, needs to have good performance and wont crack on me. I don't want to runn into any clearance issues so I need you're help. I love the short runners of an FC turbo manifold but the L.I.M. Ive heard will contact the turbo. Has anyone worked there way around this? As a last resort I might just get a custom one made but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I know an S5 turbo will fit an FD setup but we used a 1/4" spacer because it was previously on a carbed setup that needed the extra clearance. As I recall, the turbo fit the FD setup with room to spare.

I used a spare Apex rx6 kit from my FD and it fit the car fine with no clearance issues.

Short Runner Exh Man

I made my own out of heavy gauge mild steel. I bought the flange from Racing Beat and used thick weld ells to build it up. It has short, equal length runners and a divided T4 flange (also home made). The turbo's a 60-1 and the WG is a TiAL 46mm.

All it took was a die grinder, some basic tools, and a friend who knows how to weld with a TIG. Didn't cost much$.

After I took the pic, I changed to two separate 44mm wastegates to keep the pulses separated and a GT35R turbo. Spool improved by almost 2,000 RPM. I can hit full boost now at just over 3K.

Thumbs up

FD SS manifold & BW 363 here.
The FD cast manifold fits fine also and are a very affordable bolt on option.
Search the build threads, lots of info in them.

damm man, it sounds wicked! I might just end up doing that, its probably cheaper in the long run it just take a wee bit more time I guess. I could just tack it up and bring it to a shop to weld up :$ thanks
