Wipers

Installed newish wiper motor on 84GS when I turn the wipers to off. They stop about 3/4 of the way down. Adjust blades, turn wipers back on then the go down onto the cowl and get stuck have to push them to get them to move. If I want them to stop at the bottom of the window I have to time it just right and turn them all the way off otherwise they gobdown and come back up 1/4 of the way. Any help would be great

I haven’t done it on my rx7 yet, but just replaced the motor and linkage on my f150. Had to make sure the linkage was positioned right relative to the motor gear, otherwise I would get the same issue you’re describing.

Loosen the nut that connects the motor shaft to the linkage. Position the wipers where you want them to stop.

Tighten the nut, and you're GOOD !

My wipers always did this. Whenever you turn the wipers off they are going to stop in wherever they are at. I owned my car for 19yrs now and it always been like this.

Thanks everyone . Had to take wiper mechanism out and move arm all the way to the right so that when the motor starts the wipers go the opposite way instead of continuing down the cowl. Now if I could just make that motor quieter
