I have a line on a 1985 dash and was wondering whether it would fit into a 1982 GSL?

 

the 85 dash is a completely different design/shape from the 82. but for actually fitting/bolting in, it might. can't say for sure.

 

Yes, a 85 dash will bolt into an 82 and vice versa. If you are looking at an 85 dash make sure it is complete as the vents, gauge cluster, radio bezel, A/C ducting, etc are all different. The dashes can be bolted in, but as far as wiring goes many buttons and switches are in different places (headlight up/down for instance) and will require you to modify wiring. If you are looking to replace your dash since yours is cracked (like all 79-83 dashes are) you would probably be better off getting a dash cover, as modifying the new dash wiring will take a lot of work to make everything function like before.
