kojo- the front dam is the fiberglass one previously offered by VB (Black dragon). the gap across the front of the mariah fronts below the nose panel bugs the **** out of me.

7springs- this "kid with locs" is older than you.

The FB has been down to do a Turbo 12A setup. I got the engine torn apart when I had time to work on it, and was motivated to. Started the porting, never finished. I've got connections for a turbo manifold, I've got the turbo. Most of the parts have been collected for the project, at least major ones. The time is the problem now. First of all, way too cold to be in a garage without heat. Secondly, I work too much, and when I'm not working I've always got something going on.

I am about to give up on doing the engine myself and just take it somewhere to have it finished up. Time is too tight right now, and I want the car done sooner than later.

The guy I have doing my turbo manifold is, I'm sure, going to be taking a lot of time and putting a lot of effort into it. It is really just down to finding the time to put it all together, and buying the little things to complete the setup now.

I know how that is. My FB has been down since July and I haven't even torn the motor down yet. I have it down to bare block but I just haven't tore into it yet. I'm not sure what direction I want to go with the motor with porting or adding some extra nacho cheese or what. I couldn't stand driving the FC daily and pouring money into it to fix stupid **** so I traded it for the 4 Speed SA. Best decision I ever made. So instead of spending over a grand for a decent exhaust set up that I would have gotten for the FC I've spent under $100 for a nice exhaust set up on the SA and I can use the rest for nice wheels and tires. I love have enexpensive 1st Gens can be when you aren't going totally crazy LOL

I know what you mean too. I bought an FC cheap because it was supposedly an "easy fix", but the more I fixed in it the more went wrong. What made it worse is that the guy I bought the car from put the battery in backwards so as you can imagine, first crank + smoke and **** caused for tons more problems right off the bat.

I traded that for some parts, though (actually, that is how I'm getting my turbo manifold as well). FC's, the only way I'll buy another one is if I find a perfect condition TII and my Rx8 is paid off.

I went the other route though. Instead of buying another FB, I bought an Rx8. I figured I may as well, I only live once, and I'm making ample amounts of cash to afford both the 8 and the 7.... Now if only I could find the damn time for both....

Yeah I can't afford an 8. If I made that kind of money I'd be in a Mazdaspeed 6. I agree though the only FC's I would ever want to own again would be a super clean Turbo II or even a super clean Vert or Turbo vert. The SA so far has just been little things here and there. I'm going to attempt to rebuild the carb in it since it sat for a while before I got it and the secondary float sticks so when you shut it off the scondaries fill up with fuel. So far that's been the only thing I've actually bought to repair something. I paid to swap the RB muffler on but it wasn't needed, just wanted LOL. I swapped my FB wheels and tires on it cause the SA waffles vibrated really badly and the tires were dry rotted. One of the FB tires was leaking air from the valve stem cap so I had that fixed. That's all I've done so far. I still need to replace 3 speakers and I want to put a 6 disc CD changer in it. I'll have to get some more detailed pictures of it and post it up with the set up it has

Scott, you should reproduce the SA trim piece with the top portion and all. I would definitely take one

Will post pics later today, about to go in to work.

Name is Chad Mandry
I'm 27 years old, married my high school sweet heart who gave me a cute son who is now two months old.
I do go to church, but believe that religion is a personal matter and opinion, respect others and their beliefs.
I'm a police officer in Texas, for just over a year now.
I have an 85 GSL that feels lost right now. Trying to decide on a turbo 12a possibly ported if possible(just offered a setup by another member), streetported 12a, or a street/bridgeported 13b 4 port. I'll be making this a lengthy project that will cover the safety, performance, and looks aspects. I really like the way Dan_S_Young approached his, I may go the same route, build wise.

Pics to come later. Sorry, no agency or patrol car pics as I've once before been a victim of false malicious remarks to an agency by a member of another board when they found out where I worked. Not worth the hassle of explaining crap.

It's nice to match these names with faces. OnlyOnThurs is a good local friend, he's a trip. What's up CELLO!!!!!

wow, this is one of the best threads in the forum thus far...anyways i guess i should introduce myself:

my name's Edgar

I'm 18, i'll be 19 in exactly 1 month (Sep. 20). I graduated out of high school in 06,

i'm working on a physics degree of some sort, but currently unemployed and in need of cash, so taking some time off. Bought my 85 when i graduated.

I'm catholic-agnostic, i'm agnostic but what i do manage to believe on is based on catholic beliefs. i had my little bible thumper spell back in the day but quickly died.

Favorite band of all time is Nirvana, followed by The Velvet Underground. Wrestling is the greatest sport of all time, followed by football/baseball.

i just like being my age and hanging out with my friends, which in otherwords means working on cars, talking ****, getting wasted.

most recent pic of me, this weekend at Boone, NC, Appalachian State Mountaneer Fan Fest....yeah....oh btw i'm the only brown kid there.

here's my FB..

Hi, my name's Glen. Only one "n;" Dad was poor, could only afford one.

I turn 46 next week. At least 20 of those years made some kind of sense, though it's been a while.

I'm a design engineer for a company that does commerical and industrial security systems.

I'm a certified Master Diver, a sometimes student (physics, on the 20-year plan, 4 classes to go & holding), a computer geek, a sci-fi fan, a former Marine, an airplane lover, and a total packrat.

I didn't realize until much too late that "restoring" old cars is not so much about mechanics as it is about cleaning. Oh, well; can't stop now.

Married, no kids, two cats.

OK, the last pic is not actually me... but it should have been!
